Welcome to the 2021-2022 Mount Peter Race Program Registration

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY RACE PROGRAM:  DYNAMITES, HIGH SCHOOL CROSSOVER OR FULL RACE PROGRAM U8-U19 YOU MUST REGISTER THROUGH THIS SITE 

 

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.  Note that the information you input will be used for ongoing communications (practice reminders, race info, mandatory health screening surveys, other important club information, etc.), therefore you should include ALL emails and cell phones that you would like this information to be sent to. It will also enable you to use the mobile app which is all of the same contact information you enter here.

 

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately AND read all policies as you will attest to your knowledge of everything within this registration. 

 

To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or ACH Bank Account information available. Transaction fees will apply.

 

Please note that there are limited spaces in all of the programs and you may be waitlisted. If this is the case, you will be notified if a spot opens up (you will not be charged if you are waitlisted). In addition, if you plan to sign up a  NEW U8 level athlete or a NEW U10 athlete, you must attend a first day training tryout on December 11th (weather and schedule pending) and our Race Director will determine if your athlete is ready for this level (you will be charged upon registration but will receive a refund if they are not recommended for the program). This is the only day offered for the tryout therefore you must be present.

 

All pricing listed is good through December 23, 2021 and will increase 10% thereafter.

Program Descriptions

Overview
We continue to evolve in some uncertain times, however we are trying to return to more resemblance of normal.  Dynamites is open to athletes that are 7-10 years old, however there is still limited space and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. There are also limits on the U8-U19 teams and you may be waitlisted. Please note that none of the programs listed below include a Mount Peter Season Pass which is required to participate in any race program.  All pricing listed is good through December 23, 2021 and will increase 10% thereafter.

 

We are pleased to announce that the race sheds will be opened back up to the racers U8-U19. We ask that you use caution with as much spacing as possible. We will be opening the parent's lounge to racers to get ready and pack up, with the parents being able to use the lounge in between. We apologize that we will have to share the space this year, however we hope you understand that spacing is important in these crazy times. We ask that everyone clean up after themselves and keep the sheds as neat  as possible. 

 

Dynamite Team - Saturday and Sunday (must choose one or the other, you cannot do both)
This program is for athletes ages 7-10 that are Intermediate skiers. These athletes will be coached on new ski racing skills that will last them a lifetime and learn the first phases of ski racing. This team meets on Saturdays OR Sundays from 8:30am to 11:30am starting January 8, 2022 or January 9, 2022 through March 6, 2022. The Fun Race will be held on SUNDAY MARCH 6, 2022 for ALL DYNAMITES regardless if you train on Saturday or Sunday.   Prerequisites for this program: Athletes  MUST be able to ride the chair lift alone (including pulling the bar down on their own), ski intermediate terrain confidently and be able to get up by themselves with no assistance if they have fallen. Required and not included: Helmets and a Mount Peter Season Pass.  A Mount Peter Race Club Membership is required for a $30 fee per child and is included in the online price. Limited number of spaces available! Pricing is $550.00 and includes the $30 Mount Peter Race Club fee. All dates are weather permitting. This program will not be held on Martin Luther King Weekend or President's Weekend (1/15/22 or 1/16/22 and 2/19/22 or 2/20/22).  There will be a parent meeting prior to the program start in early January. 

 

USSS Full Race Program U8-U19
This program is for athletes ages 6 to adult (U8-U19) who want expert coaching and training in the sport of ski racing and has the option to compete in U.S. Ski & Snowboard sanctioned events. All participants MUST be able to ride the chairlift alone and ski expert terrain confidently to participate. Required and not Included - Mount Peter Season Pass, FIS approved Helmet and body armor, USSS/NJSRA and Mount Peter Race Club Membership. U8: There will be a limited tryout for all new 6 & 7 year-olds for the U8 program and any new 8 &9 years-olds for the  U10 program on the first day of the program ONLY which will be at the Race Director's recommendation. This will take place on December 11, 2021 only (weather and schedule pending). If you are not present for this try-out you can not be considered. 


U8 - ages 6 & 7 (YOB 2015 & 2014)
U10 - ages 8 & 9 (YOB 2013 & 2012) 


U8/U10 train on Saturday's and Sunday's from 7:30am to 12:30pm (with short snack breaks, but no lunch break) starting December 11, 2021 through March 6, 2022. Pricing is $875.00 and includes the $30 Mount Peter Race Club Fee. There will be approximately 2-3 races within the region and a fun race on March 6, 2022. There is no guarantee on the number of races.  All dates are weather permitting. Athlete must have a Mount Peter season pass, purchased separately, and post a $225 volunteer bond  in cash via Venmo (@MountPeterRaceClub) or Zelle (treasurer@mtpeterracing.com) to the Mount Peter Race Club which will be returned on or about March 31, 2022 if you fulfill 5 volunteer points throughout the season.  We no longer accept uncashed checks due to those not fulfilling their obligation in the past.  You will not receive your early load pass without the volunteer bond posted.

 

U12 - ages 10 & 11 (YOB 2011 & 2010)

U12 train on Saturday's and Sunday's from 7:30am to 12:30pm (with short snack breaks, but no lunch break) starting December 11, 2021 through March 6, 2022. Pricing is $1095.00 and includes the $30 Mount Peter Race Club Fee, Thursday night gate training 6-8pm and Holiday Camp which dates will be announced later in the fall. There will be approximately 3-4  races within the region and a fun race on March 6, 2022. If your athlete makes a post season event there will be an additional $100 fee for coaching representation. There is no guarantee on the number of races.  All dates are weather permitting. Athlete must have a Mount Peter Season Pass, purchased separately, and post a $225 volunteer bond  in cash via Venmo (@MountPeterRaceClub) or Zelle (treasurer@mtpeterracing.com) to the Mount Peter Race Club which will be returned on or about March 31, 2022 if you fulfill 5 volunteer points throughout the season.  We no longer accept uncashed checks due to those not fulfilling their obligation in the past.  You will not receive your early load pass without the volunteer bond posted.


U14 - ages 12 & 13 (YOB 2009 & 2008)
U16 - ages 14 & 15 (YOB 2007 & 2006) 
U19 - ages 16, 17 & 18 (YOB 2003, 2004 & 2005)

U14/U16/U19 train on Saturday's and Sunday's from 7:30am to 12:30pm (with short snack breaks and but no lunch break) starting December 11, 2021 and Thursday evenings from 6pm to 8pm starting January 6, 2022  through March 6, 2022.  Pricing is $1250.00 and includes the Holiday Camp (dates to be announced later this fall), and the $30 Mount Peter Race Club Fee.  There will be approximately  4 races within the region with an opportunity for U16/19 to do out of state races. If your athlete makes a post season event there will  be an additional $100 for coaching representation. There is no guarantee on the number of races. All dates are weather permitting. Athlete must have a Mount Peter Season Pass, purchased separately, and post a $225 volunteer bond  in cash via Venmo (@MountPeterRaceClub) or Zelle (treasurer@mtpeterracing.com) to the Mount Peter Race Club which will be returned on or about March 31, 2022 if you fulfill 5 volunteer points throughout the season.  We no longer accept uncashed checks due to those not fulfilling their obligation in the past..  You will not receive your early load pass without the volunteer bond posted.

 

High School Crossover 

This program is designed for those High School Ski Racers who want more training opportunity and enhance their ski racing. They will train directly with Mount Peter’s U16/19 USSS coaches. The program meets on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30am to 12:30pm starting January 8, 2022 through March 6, 2022 . Pricing is $850  (price good thru 12/9/21 and includes $30 club membership fee).  This program does not include representation of USSS coaches for USSS sanctioned events.

Pandemic

Due to the current environment and for everyone's safety, the programs can change along the way at any time. This can include cancellations, time changes, rule changes, etc. We will do our best to give as much notice as possible, but please know that we are following all guidelines and mandates passed to us from NYS and USSS.  We need everyone to be patient, flexible and fluid so we can keep the children on the mountain as much as possible.

 

Use of Race Sheds or Lodges

Dynamites families will use Sunrise Lodge but please be considerate to those around you and do not camp out at tables all day long. Bags are not allowed to be kept in any lodge so please continue to use your car for storage. 

 

Equipment

FIS Approved Helmets & proper equipment are required for all Mount Peter Alpine Race Center Programs.

 

Chair Lift

Athletes may ride lift alone throughout the program and is a requirement to be able to ride lift alone to be in program. The pandemic rules do allow for a full chairlift to be occupied however if you wish your athlete to ride alone you will need to indicate this to the chair lift operator upon boarding the lift. 

 

Other Costs

Racing program fees are for training and coaching only. Fees do not include Transactions fees, Mount Peter Season Pass, race entry fees, US Ski and Snowboard Association fees, postseason $100 Mount Peter Race Club coach fee, transportation or damages incurred by participants or the Full Race Team Volunteer Bond which will be a posting of $225 cash  which will be refunded to you on or about March 31, 2022 only if you fulfill 5 volunteer points throughout the season. We no longer accept uncashed checks due to volunteers not fulfilling their obligation in the past. You will not receive your early load pass until you post your Volunteer Bond.  Registration fees do include the $30 Mount Peter Race Club Membership fee.

 

Ski Racer Level Changes

Any racer that is “moved up” by the race department will be charged the next rate increase.

 

Responsibilities as Participants

Mount Peter does not take responsibility for any person(s). This includes, but is not limited to, using the chairlift and mountain safely. Please make sure participant is aware of all chairlift and mountain safety rules and guidelines which may be viewed on www.mtpeter.com

 

Mount Peter Race Club Membership

All Mount Peter Race Program participants must be a member of the Mount Peter Ski Race Club and a $30 fee is included in all online program costs (see Mount Peter Race Club page for more information on the benefits you gain through being a part of the Club). All families that have a U8-U19 will be required to post $225 volunteer bond  in the form of cash which will be returned on or about March 31, 2022 if you fulfill your 5 point volunteer requirement.  Payment is accepted via Venmo (@MountPeterRaceClub) or Zelle (treasurer@mtpeterracing.com).   We no longer accept uncashed checks due to volunteers not fulfilling their contract in the past. You will not receive your early load pass without posting the Volunteer Bond. 

 

Waivers 

If you, as the parent or legal guardian of the athlete and/or you the athlete, do not accept fully the conditions on all waivers within this registration and prove by signing electronically, you may not compete or participate in any event/training/program and your race pass will not be processed. No refunds. Not responsible for typographical errors or omissions.

 

Mount Peter 2021-2022 Refund Policy

During this uncertain time with COVID-19, please keep in mind that any purchase made is a risk. Mount Peter's programs are non-refundable, and will not be extended, even if you child misses time due to illness. The only circumstances  that would cause Mount Peter to consider a partial credit, less a 20% administration fee, for the following season would occur if we are mandated to shut down by the government. Before purchasing this program, please consider the risks involved. Upon payment you agree to the above terms.

 

COVID-19 Notice 

Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present. Mount Peter has implemented protocols to prioritize guest health and safety, but we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit. The risk of being exposed or becoming sick due to COVID-19 cannot be eliminated. Every skier and rider share the responsibility for a safe and healthy skiing experience. It is your responsibility to read and comply with all instructions and signage posted at Mount Peter and on the website. Stay home if you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Wash and sanitize your hands frequently. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to quarantine, severe illness, and death in any individual. BY VISITING MOUNT PETER, YOU VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RISKS RELATED TO EXPOSURE TO CORONAVIRUS AND/OR COVID-19.
